Building a Page on facebook is Easy
So you have your business up and running and you’ve got your products and brand all lined up. Your page is up and you look great! So what to do about facebook? Everyone is using it and there isn’t an easier way to get your brand out there. Not only can you send your pages to your friends, you can get that page ranked high up there in Google and have your page be ranked up by widgets on your WordPress blog.
Facebook doesn’t make it obvious on how to make a page so I’m going to step you through the process. It isn’t difficult.
- First, login to your account on facebook.
- Click here to create a page. You won’t see it on your personal facebook page.
- Choose the type of business by clicking in one of the boxes. I chose Artist, Band, or
- Public Figure for one of my businesses.
- Fill out the required information.
- Click on Get Started.
- Choose a logo or a picture or you can skip this part if you’re not ready.
- Fill in the necessary information and save!
Right now you will have to wait until you have 30 likes until you can specify a name for your company and get more information about how many people visit your page or share it. I’ll touch more on that later after I give your page a chance to age.
How to Invite People
When your page is up and you’re almost finished a box that says “Invite Friends” will popup. Go ahead and invite them when you’re ready. If they do not like the page they will just ignore it and you will not be able to invite them again.
I don’t believe users can see that your personal account owns page unless you invite them or tell them that you do. I have several pages for the different blogs I have. I try not to completely flood my friends with the pages I create so I only invite so many per day when I start a new page.
facebook can be a wonderful tool if used correctly. They don’t want you to become too spammy and have a lot of rules and community standards about the pages you create. For example, you can’t show naked pictures of people or illegal activities. Your header can’t say specific information like offers from your business because it might conflict with their advertising.
Once your page is finished, you can also promote it to everyone facebook so they know who you are. The cost is per impression.
After your page is finished and you tell your facebook friends about it, be sure to tweet about it as well and put the Like box up on your WordPress page. Remember, it’s all about numbers and those who see your content. Content is king and social networking is the method. It’s hard to have a business without the two leveraging off one another.
